Reliability Is Your Strength As You Build A Lawn Care Empire

A HUGE advantage you have over the massive lawn care services in your city is the fact that you can be more reliable. This needs to be your primary selling point of your services.

The Lawn Care Empire definition of a reliable Lawn Care Business is one that shows up when they say they will be there and sends who they say is going to be there.

If you are running solo or only have a couple team members it is easy to develop relationships with your customers due to the fact that your customers will see you or the same team member each week.

By being consistent you build trust which builds long term customers who will recommend you to friends and family.

In order to gauge how well you are doing, I highly recommend you ask for opinion cards on the work performed whether it’s done by you or one of your employees.

I created a sample opinion card that I used to send to my customers to get their feedback on my performance. Feel free to tailor this to your business to help gauge the satisfaction of your customers.

  2. On a scale of one to ten how satisfied are you with our lawn care?

If a particular customer prefers someone to perform their yard work I would do everything I can to make sure that happens.

This is also why keeping extensive customer records is so important. As you grow your business it is going to be difficult to remember the specifics of each customer so you need to keep records of what each customer prefers. Here are three things that every lawn care business should do:

  1. Record specific requirements that customers prefer done to their yard (ie, grass height, any off limit areas, property lines, how often they want yard mowed)

  1. any personalized facts you learn (ie what sports teams they like, how many kids they have, ect…)

  2. Try to assign at least one team member to each customer. Consistency is key for customers and it will help develop good customer relations if the same lawn care specialist shows up every week.
